Here’s What Your Finger Length Reveals About Your Speaking Personality [Fun]



Research indicates that you can tell a lot about a person just by studying their hands – specifically the length of their index vs ring finger. The length of the ring finger is determined by the amount of testosterone a fetus is exposed to during the second trimester of pregnancy

This exposure has direct correlation to personality, health, and in our case speaking style.
Above, you’ll see three different hands labeled: assertive, balanced, and mellow.

Below, you will find what it means about your speaking personality.

A: Assertive: the ring finger is longer than the index.

This means that your natural speaking style is to push forward with your agenda no matter what.

Pros: Very effective at getting the information to the audience

Cons: Could be perceived as dominating and a turn people off.

This is me! I always have to watch it when I am presenting, so that I don’t go overboard with the intensity.

B: Balanced: the ring finger is equal in length to the index.

This means that you can pull back or push forward at will.

Pros: You are perceived as respectful and flexible

Cons: You could be easy to forget because you do not stand out.

C: Mellow: the ring finger is shorter than the index.

This means your natural speaking style is zen-like.

Pros: You are level-headed and calm. Great in situations where there is debate or conflict. ,

Cons: You could be perceived as lacking leadership.


Remember. These are just based on correlations, so this might not apply to you. However, if it does, then it only indicates your natural tendency (your default setting).

To be an effective communicator and leader, you need to transcend your natural tendency. Do this by developing all styles so that you are flexible with your approach. Different situations might require different styles: sometimes you might need to be assertive, sometimes balanced, and sometimes mellow.
